Hi, I'm Kiisaes, or Min! I'm the co-head and art mod for "Under the Sun"! I've been stuck in BKDK brainrot for a while now, and have participated in a couple zines myself as an artist (comic and illustration). UTS/UTC is my first zine modding experience. Outside of zine work, I'm a full-time art student with a passion for comics. Summer is my favorite season and I'm so excited to see this zine come to life!

Hi, I'm Aeuri. I'll be the Shipping moderator for "Under the Sun". I'm a convention artist, and I'm currently the Shipping moderator for "CSL: Crazy Stupid Love, A BKDK Romcom Zine". I run my own business online and at conventions, and I've always had fun shipping things out to where it has become a little hobby of mine. I'm excited to help out with this adorable BKDK summertime zine.

"What is a zine?"
A zine is either a physical or digital booklet composed of fanworks from a cast of fan creators. UTS will be a physical zine.

"What does “summer fling” imply?"
“Summer fling” is in reference to brief summertime relationships that end when the summer break ends. Whether or not the relationship continues after the season is over is up to you!

"Is UTS and/or UTC for profit?"
Yes! We are a for-profit zine! The payout will be spread evenly between every contributor and mod once all cost of sales have been deducted. There will be a finance sheet in the zine’s discord server for each contributor to see where sales, cost of sale and shipping, profits and how it is split between each person. This sheet will be updated daily.
The digital zine and merch will be provided to each contributor for free and full physical bundles can be elected to receive with a deduction of the cost price for the bundle and not the sale price.

"Is there an NSFW section of the zine?"
Yes — “Under the Covers” is a NSFW add-on. It is entirely digital and hosts a fresh new group of contributors! There can also be overlap between the UTS and UTC contributor lists.

"What are the application guidelines?"

"Can I apply to both UTS and UTC?"
Yes! If you apply to both, you also have the possibility of making content for both zines, so please be aware of that.

"Who can apply to the zine?"
We require all applicants to be 18+. Our mod team is 18+ and not comfortable with interacting with minors. Even though “Under The Sun” will be strictly SFW, “Under The Covers” will be NSFW and promoted on our accounts.

"Contributor requirements?"
Accepted writers will be asked to create a story with a word count of 2.5–3k. Accepted artists will be asked to create a double page illustration OR 2 single page illustrations OR 1 two page comic, distributed on a first come, first serve basis, with guests taking priority. Merch artists will be asked to create 2 designs for 2 different types of merchandise (2 total items).

"Is this strictly BKDK or can it be DKBK as well?"
Your contribution can be anything from the BKDKBK acronym. (We kept it as BKDK in our name for simplicity sake!)

"Can I include other ships in my work?"
Yes, but BKDKBK should be the forefront ship! Other ships can be utilized to push the summer fling vibe, however.

"Can I reuse old art/writings as my zine piece?"
No, you must create something completely original for the project.
